@Darrik: Think of it like any other trailer. It should be only a couple minutes long — enough to give the person you’re pitching to an interesting taste, but not so much that they don’t feel they don’t need to meet with you to talk more.

@E. Nicole: I don’t unfortunately. You can sign up for alerts from them here: http://www.pitchexpo.com/registration.htm which may help.

@Will: the main pitfall would be that could be a very expensive approach if nobody buys it. Best to simply create a trailer and pitch and send that around. If there are any takers, they may give you the development money to do a pilot.

As a 15 year, I guess Veteran??? But at 36 in my prime, I would say you have answered quite nicely. I like to be clay, mold myself to overcome the obstacles, I like to be oil to smooth out the problems or issues, I like to be the glue, to hold the team together. We are there to fill in gaps be it collaboration and communication among the team, or simply to give that pat on the back if need be. We must know each aspect of the process from conception to postmortem not the “development” details but foresee the pitfalls that could cause a disruption in the process, timeline and budget… It can be difficult, but it is very rewarding. Geinevere, Thanks for the advice – but just one quick question. I have already made an ‘example’ pilot episode of the TV idea to try to help the pitch – I am producing a nice trailer for it – any ideas on this marketing tool? how long should the trailer be?

If you are interested in the part time program then you do not have to wait until may. MBA part time at ryerson starts on September. you can double check on their website.

Yep I changed it on Friday, keeping up the tradition of changing the look at the start of every new year. Since I blog less, I wanted to emphasize my lifestream more as I do a lot online and wanted this site to act as a portal to that activity. Not totally done yet, I’m going to get a better logo than that ugly guinevere.ca grey copy at the top left.
