The finalists for the 2008 Canadian New Media Awards have been announced. I was nominated in the “Excellence in Social Media Websites” category, but didn’t quite make it to finalist. Next time!

Some very great people & companies that I know are still in the running. b5media which is run by Jeremy Wright is in direct competition with Filemobile run by Steve Hulford (and partners) in the “Most Promising Company of the Year” category. These are actually both really great companies run by excellent people. I couldn’t pick one over the other, so I’ll call tie.

In the “Excellence in Social Media Websites” category that I was nominated in, one of the finalists is Pixton, who applied to be on Dragons’ Den this year. Why is that notable? Well, I’m the Interactive Producer on that show! I thought that was a neat coincidence.
